Kenya, for many years the public face of tourism in East Africa is more than the overrated safari image projected by most travel agents.

It's made up of many diverse ethnic groups and tribes, and Kenyans have a strong sense of national pride which may be due in part to unity in the struggle for Uhuru (Kiswahili: "freedom"). Kenya is edgy, complicated, sometimes frustrating but always interesting.

With all the political unrest at present, does anyone know how safe it is to travel to Kenya at present?

I will be going to Kenya in a few months (for 6 months). Hope all should be fine then, I hear it is a wonderful country!
